The Nephrology department is headed by a well experienced Nephrologist Dr.Saja M.Mohammed. MBchB,DM,CABM,FIMCN. She has worked as a specialist Nephrologist in Nephrology transplant Center, Renal Dialysis unit, Baghdad teaching complex, Iraq, since 2002. She is working in Badr Al Samma Group of hospitals from October 2006;she Started the Nephrology department for the first time at Badr Al Samma.she has been instrumental in introducing the Hemodialysis Unit, the first of its kind in the private health sector in the region. She keeps updating her knowledge in medical field by attending conferences, training courses & CMEs and she has published many thesis & case presentations in the field of Nephrology. Recently she organized a seminar on Nephrology 28th November,2008.

Nephrology Unit

The Nephrology department provides out patient as well as Inpatient services and the department manages cases such as Diabetic Nephrology, prevention screening strategies for CKD (Chronic Kidney Diseases) including ESRD (End stage Renal Diseases). This also includes Dialysis patients and follows up of renal Transplant patients. The department is backed by complete setup of Hemodialysis unit supported by ultra pure water system management from Fresenius medical care company. The department is supported by a team of dedicated nursing staff and trained technician. The department is headed by highly qualified Nephrologist, having many years of clinical practice in the field of Nephrology, Dialysis, and Transplantation. The Nephrology unit was introduced at our Ruwi branch in the year 2006. It has already served incredible number of patients since the inception including Nationalities and expatriate community. .

CKD Outpatient Clinic

We started CKD clinic for early detection, prevention, management of patient with chronic kidney diseases (CKD) as part of screening strategy to improve the health care & outcome of the chronic kidney diseases patients especially those with high risk diseases including hypertension, diabetes, coronary heart diseases, patient with family history of CKD (Chronic kidney diseases) and facilitate integrated management with Nephrologist, Diabetologist, Cardiologist and primary care Physiciant. The main objective Is to provide the best medical care at affordable to all.

Renal Biopsy Procedure

Renal biopsy considers one of the minor surgeries can be done under local Anesthesia under Ultrasound guidance; it is one of very important Histological test to facilitate the diagnosis guide for the treatment of patient with glomerular diseases.
